ABOUT the ARTIST

Currently based in Nottingham, UK, I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose creative roots are always firmly buried in the organic beauty of nature and the human experience.

I also really love cats, so you'll often find them featured in or hidden within my work!

By day I'm a freelance designer, creating floral patterns for the fashion industry. I studied Textile Design at university and have over 10 years in the field. However, I've always held an enormous love for painting, and so by night I'm letting my imagination run wild in oils!

Oil painting for me is a meditative process - I've always been a daydreamer wrapped up in a fantasy world. There's never a solid plan in creating new art, as part of the joy comes from watching a piece evolve over time, letting my emotions and obsessions guide me. It doesn't always work out, but new discoveries don't come without getting a little lost along the journey, right?

Recently I've been exploring combining my personal art and textile knowledge to create what I hope is the beginning of a large collection of spooky (and cat-based) fabric designs!

Learning to sew along the way, I've ventured into a new world of bag making, designing sewing patterns and creating luxury stationary items. I'm having an absolute blast, but there really aren't enough hours in the day :P
